Barley Warmed Spaghetti
This does stretch the imagination to call it spaghetti, but it can be dehydrated and made into crunchy noodles and served with Presto Pesto.

Ingredient Proportions
2 cups barley (soak 4 - 6 hours, rinse)
2 - 4 tsp. Olive oil
1/2 cup fresh basil
2 - 3 tsp. Vege-sal

Machine Instructions
Put the machine together for making pasta. Instead of using the twin gears, secure the pasta screw and pasta guide in the twin gears housing. Attach the pasta screen, set at chosen noodle size, to the pasta guide. Then put on the pasta output attachment. Now you are ready to make pasta.

Preparation and Serving Instructions
1. Soak the barley 4 - 6 hours, rinse.
2. Stir all the ingredients together in a bowl, and slowly spoon the mixture into the machine catching the pasta on a dehydrator tray, pinching off at the desired length, or catching it all in a bowl.
3. Set the dehydrator at 105 Degree Fahrenheit and dehydrate noodles until crisp, about 2 - 4 hours, depending on weather and climate.
4. Serve fresh or warm, with Presto Pesto or That's a My Tomato Sauce.

Other Info
Soaking time: 4 - 6 hours
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Dehydrating time: 2 - 4 hours
Yields: 2 - 4 servings

Preparation Hints
This dish can be eaten fresh out of the machine. I prefer mine slightly warmed in the dehydrator, take your pick.
Barley Warmed Casserole
This dish is unbelievable warmed in an electric skillet, kept on low and simmered just enough for the flavors to blend into a delightfully rich, satisfying and crunchy dish.
